Do We Need a Form of Collapse for New Ideas to Emerge?
Do we need, perhaps a form of collapse for new ideas to emerge? I think they can. And ike thesos, they must show up in a period of seeming slow down. We're at a point in the history of ideas where ideas are so lex and advanced that individuals alone can't really do anything. It's all about teams. All about multi year, multi team efforts. Essentially, getting to and staying at the frontier of human endeavour now is a massively difficult task. So unless you have these incredible institutions working on the frontiers, you simply aren't going to be able to push them back any more.
