Kaczynski's manifesto was published in 1996, or let's say late 95. He dropped out of sight for those six or seven years and you heard nothing about him. So I knew if I wanted to follow up on the latest information, I would have to contact him directly. This was late 2003, just a letter out of the blue,. It's like, you know, hello, Dr. Kaczynski. About two weeks later, I got a one-page handwritten letter from him. And so that was sort of the initiation of the process. Of course, led to more questions and discussions ...
