OST checks to make sure that a transaction doesn't have any quote unquote entropy. If five users all coming together doing a collaborative transaction is very obvious on chain, then it will assign a cluster. With a custodial tumbler, you do not have that obviousness. This is why I centrally coordinated coin joins are so important. It's a middle ground where we have better privacy guarantees than something that isn't centrally coordinated. But we don't have to reduce the risk of honey pot and of the person who's in charge getting either fucked or complicit.
