The Role Experience Plays in Faith

Sally Kohn: I think experience is indispensable to just how we understand our faith. She says she was taught your experience doesn't really matter unless it's the right kind of doctrinal experience or something like that. But anything that sort of blows your categories out of the water is not accepted,Kohn says. And for me, that makes God small and who needs a God that always fits in our hip-hop? The universe is weird; maybe things are weirder than we understand,"she says.
