Joel Ramirez Palma's Story of a Building Collapse
Joel Ramirez Palma was a construction person working on the site of the New Heart Rock Hotel. Two weeks prior, he tried to speak out about the issues he was seeing. He told his supervisor multiple times but they simply brushed it off and told him to just keep working. The day of the collapse, he noticed the floor beneath his feet was moving and then the worst happened. His lawyer found suspicious since he did have a fishing license. ICE called the accusations of retaliation "outrageously irresponsible"
