The Benefits of the CBC Plus

The CBC with white count would be what we do in a routine, probably mostly in outpatient visits. Anybody comes in who might have an infection is seriously ill, we'd probably get the CBC with a diff because that includes the differential. And then the CBC plus I really love because it should remind everybody that when you have anemia, the first two things you do is you get a reticulocyte count and examine the blood smear to evaluate anemia.
