CHAPTER

Is There a Pattern of Parental Insecurity?

i think a lot of parents say they want things to be better, and they hope that they get er. But as parents, they don't ever feel like they have enough agency or control to actively make things better. So it's like not only not seeing the positive, but also making fun of other people who do it. And if you think about what this sort of culmination of that message is to your kids, it's like, you're stuck. You are who you are. Getting better is lame. Like, getting better is impossible.
