Homer's Aeneas - The Homeric Ham to Aphrodite
There are so many unanswered questions about the greek aeneas. He's aphrodite's only real human, mortal child. There is such a long and detailed story for how she became pregnant with him. The iliad o such a specific line about him going on to keep the trojan blood lion alive to found a city. And yet, all of that came so, so, so many hundreds of years before what the romans decided to ret con him into their national history. What was there about aeneas in the archaic greek world that we're missing? Why was he so very special and unfinished.? I'm just truly obsessed with all these questions. Stay tuned
