Is the Matrix a Version of the Cave?

i thought for a lng time that the matrix was a version of the cave. But more recently, i've noticed some anti platonic elements in the matrix. I almost wonder if it's an anti cave. Like plato, is all about rationality, and removing oneself from the dionysian impulses. And so in those two aspects, the kind of denial of the beauty of the world, and also this portrayal of raw, instinctive dionycian impulse as the way of reality, strike me as antiplatonic.
