The Paradox of Gun Control in New York
There is a lack of appetite to deal with this on both sides. The left does not want to enforce many of the laws that it passes, which is increasingly true. In passing laws, if you have an institutional objection to the consequences of prosecuting those laws, another area of this, for example, is mental health. There is no pro-gun rights lobby in Britain either. And I'll just finish by saying, this is actually what separates the United States from, say, Britain. Neither country has the same civil libertarian import on the right and on the left as we do.
