In the 1970s, there was a theory that women burn more fat when they're running and they'll have better endurance. I can't see any reason why the women's muscles would be different and would metabolize any differently than men. As far as the energy metabolism goes, I would think it applies to women. But having developed type two diabetes as a result of following the slow-carb diet, sorry, the high-carb following the high- carb diet,. still getting type two diabetes, I'm a bit more suspicious about the health effects of the diet.
