Is There a Link Between Religion and Music?

Music is one great whole. It is, aspecial, a self contained revelation of the world. Each actual instance of this inner revelation in the individual contains all these unities. Music only develops that power through its connection to those broader unities. Leasi: i've never had any problem with any great white jass player. But you can look at someone like charliey hayden and say he sounds like a from the ozarks. He's a genuine hick. And that something in his base playing, i think, is very, very beautiful.
