Is the Apex Sternum the Way to Go?

The sternal and apex technique of applying the pads very anteriorly on the chest in order to continue doing CPR while placing the pads on there. In reality, though, my overall thoughts on this as long as the heart is somewhere in between the pads, your defibrillation should work. If you have the pads on the patient's chest and the heart doesn't look like it would be in between where your pads are placed, you're probably not going to be successful with your defibrillators.
