Brazil's Climate Observatory - What's at Stake for the Amazon in This Election?
Claudio Angelo is a former journalist who used to cover the environment beat. He's now with Brazil's climate observatory, a coalition that's trying to get Brazilians more engaged with climate change issues. In 2021, their land was one of the eight indigenous territories in Brazil that saw especially high levels of illegal deforestation. The number of murders of indigenous peoples is the highest since record keeping began in 2003.
