Penicillin Allergies

In the penicillin 1015 years ago, we used to have a lot of derivatives in it. We think people who developed allergies then were really to the derivative and not to penicillin itself. Penicillin now is much more purified. And so thinking about, you know, that's why there's been a lot of talk about challenging folks toPenicillin in clinic or want to see what potential reaction is. If they do have a truly defined penicillin allergy, then a clinda would be your treatment of choice for this patient.
