Rent Mortorium - Why Lower Income People Need to Charge Higher Rents
People who took advantage of the rent mortorium the most were lower income people. Because then, if you didn't pay, the landlord could go back and sue you to get the back rent after the mortorium ends. But for lower income people, they're not going to get sued, because they have nothing to take. And so as result of this, people who are renting to lower income people need to charge a much higher rent now in order to collect as much money as possible while they're still paying.
