While never truly blending in, it's clear that she's attempting to dress in a more traditionally appropriate manner to be taken seriously. She ends up winning, which I think is like proving this whole message that being feminine does not mean you are less serious or less qualified or less professional. And you should not have to dress a certain way to prove that you were good at your job.
