The Story of Sasha and Janet

A crisis summoned sasha to the office in the afternoon. She was earringed and high heeled. The muscles in her jaw flexed. After that, the rhythm of their days resumed. Janet woke in the dark, and sasha moved around in the dark with nothing to separate them except the door that couldn't be closed. When you're a kid, everyone always asks what you want to be when you grow up. They tell you to dream big, shoot for the stars, et cetera.
