Sally Kohn: Research shows that labeling a woman as, quote, emotional or telling her to calm down makes her point of view seem less credible. She says the research will say that because of our gender stereotypes about emotions, women can readily be seen as being too emotional. Kohn: You probably shouldn't bring your whole self to work because of these stereotypes and the way people are going to pay attention to you.
