Europe is between a rock and a hard place. They are completely dependent on russia for energy, but the americans want them to stop buying russian energy. The southies are not willing to ramp up their oil production even though the US wants them to. So that creates a big dilemma for western europe. Energy is becoming more expensive. And over all, everything's going to be more expensive. There's going inflation. Prices are going to rise. Maybe they can ban russian oil to great pain to themselves,. because they wel hov to buy american of ther oil at much higher prices than what the russians would sell them oil at.
