The mother writers in your book were not taking contraception for granted. A andveguen, later on, after she has her third child, goes to the doctor and says, can you give me more effective contraception? And a, there really was an idea at the time, in thisus Te mid sixties, that women's bodies knew better than women's minds. For all of them, i think it was a horrifying experience to get pregnant unplanned. It felt like a betrayal by their bodies. So getting an abortion was extremely important in regaining that sense of control,. which is also really essential for writing.
