Cost Estimation - The Bottom Up Approach

The bottom up approach, I believe, is the most common approach used in project management from what I've heard from engineering professionals. But then on the flip side, you can go in the reverse and go top down. We tend to get so in the details on these things that sometimes we just need to step back and maybe let someone else take a peek at it. So with commission in particular, I actually can kind of throttle up or down a little bit based on the quality of contractors on the project.
