The Importance of Deliberate Practice
Top performers usually come from households where their parents encouraged them and aided them in their pursuits. Starting from a young age is ideal because the younger we are, the better we are at learning. Being even slightly ahead at the beginning of life increases the chances that teachers will pay extra attention and offer valuable resources. Identifying your weakness at something takes intelligent, deliberate practice to improve it. There's no once-in-a-generation talent given by fate; becoming a genius just takes time.
