Synthetic Media and AI Generated Media - A Global Initiative to Prevent Panic
Witness is a global human rights network. We work with journalists and human rights defenders around the world who are using, you know, the accommodation of video and technology to document and advocate. And so when we were four or five years ago assessing the risks that were emerging for the most vulnerable truth in societies, we identified the advent of AI generated media as a potential threat. So we began the first global initiative to prepare, but not to panic around synthetic media and AI generated media in 2018.
