Walmart has a line of sigt to but we can get to like ten stores, and i think sam even gives an interview where he talks about that. He's not really a control freak as much as he's uncomfortable with disconnected from what's going on in the stores. And so his belief was, well, if we expand outside of this state, or this tri state area, and we start getting more and more stores, i don't know that it expands beyond ten,. 15, 20, somewhere in there.
We kick off Season 11 with the incredible story of the retail “granddaddy of them all” Walmart, and its founder Sam Walton. Once you study Walmart, you realize just how deep its heritage runs through Amazon and so many iconic modern companies we cover on Acquired. This episode was an absolute blast, and we even uncovered a new addendum to the hallowed “focus on what makes your beer taste better” playbook theme!
