How Much Protein Do You Need to Consume?

The American College of Sports Medicine recommends more than 1.2 to perhaps even as much as 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight for a sedentary person. Not all proteins are created equal getting enough high quality protein with the specific amino acids needed to support muscle and is something you want to examine and look into. For me at a body weight of about 70 kilograms that means I need to eat every day somewhere in the order of 90 to 140 grams of protein which is a fair amount. If you're a hard training climber you should probably be on the high side of 1 gram per kilograms of body weight per day.
