The Reichstag Act of 1937

The law for removing the distress of the people and the Reich was passed on April 1, 1937. It would allow the government to pass any legislation it wanted without a two-thirds majority in the Reichstag. The ability to pass laws even those that were not legal under the existing Constitution gave the government incredible power. But there was really no way to curtail that power with the Reich Strot being removed from the equation.
