The Cricket Pitch, Et Cetera
Pitch, we play it on the pitch. That's an interesting expression that comes from the world of cricket. We're exploring with two people, giles branreth and susie dent. I know absolutely nothing about cricket but i'm discovering a lot just listening to susie. And wicket is another one ther you you mentioned when we were talking about insects,. There was there a link between guep, a wasp, and giche. A giche in french, is grill opening at a ticket office. But it can also mean wicket. It seems to have come in after the normans, but why? We're not sure.
