The American Idea of Independence, Right?
In general, if you lived out on the frontier, you had to be like, a fiercely independent person. And that's where we find the justification for the american idea of independence. A 100 and 52 hundred years later, such a vast majority of Americans have no connection whatever with that kind of sense of actual independence. I guess i'm just saying i think it's arrogance to think we're any different.
