How to Count Southern Right Whales From Space

Watcher Vicki spends part of her year perched on cliffs above the shallow waters of penitular valleys, or tracking southern right whales using light aircraft. But it's time consuming and chartering boats and planes can be prohibitively expensive. So this is where the new method of imaging the southern right whales from space comes in. Peter Frettwell explained how they use images taken by the commercial polar orbiting world view two satellites.
