The Importance of a Sociological Imagination

I think the dominant ideology that we've come to associate with our current late stage capitalism is just one of individualism and atomization. People in all these different fields, from academia to tech, any kind of professional field with professional aspirations, it's a very common thread where you think that you're not supposed to organize. But at the same time, this is something that many of us are conditioned to believe from an early age. This dream that they've been sold, they'll reach the promised land. In the end, there's so much outside your control. And I think that's something that we're starting to see now with all these layoffs and changing economic conditions in tech.
