As a critic your job is to think interesting things about those things you're not that interested and for a long time having to do that made them interesting but it sort of stopped for a lot of stuff. The thing that started to happen was like i could tell i was getting bitter about it and uh snarky and that's not the right place to be coming from. I just feel like there was like a de-emphasis on its deep over-dogness which um and so now we're in the situation where like we take it really seriously even though a lot of it is shitty, he says.
