A great depression came at a time when Britain was able to loot less rapidly from India. The reason we had so much inflation in the 70s is that all this energy that we used to get for very cheap through our companies got nationalized by local actors. And then those countries now controlled the production of oil and they decided to raise the price, which caused a lot of inflation in the West. Now you're essentially like labor and resources in the India case, energy in the case of the 70s. And today it's what's called globalization. Which is, of course, again, the relentless quest for cheaper labor and goods to input into our machines, our economic machines.
