Is There a Difference Between Inspiration and Discipline?
There's always tension. I think that these things, they're not contradictions but they exist in contradiction in that they're always fighting for time, energy and attention. One contradiction I consistently struggle with is the one between inspiration and discipline or effort and going with the flow. How do you know when to do one or the other in your own life? Yeah, it's funny. I find that discipline leads to inspiration. It is through the act of discipline that inspiration emerges. Now that discipline tends to be sort of of depth and narrowness rather than width and expansiveness.
