What Is a Vapor Lock?
Cooper demanded the parachutes, which suggests he was planning to jump from the plane. He had them refuel the plane and get ready for takeoff again. The re fueling process took a while because when they started pumping fuel into the plane's tanks, the tanker truck suffered a vapor lock. This implied that cooper would be staying on the plain for quite a long time. But there were also clues he was planning on doing something else.
