In Mark, Jesus is trying to keep his who he is a secret the whole time. He doesn't want anybody to know who he is. It seems kind of strange, but it's clearly there,. And but then the other gospels got rid of that. They were Jesus like that. So when you get to Matthew and Luke who have this verse is what they changed it. The expectation really started taking off in the 19th century and then just blossomed in the 20th century until it's the kind of view that people today say, well, of course, that's what the Bible says. Yeah, it doesn't say that.
