TikTok and ByteDance's Proposal to Secure US User Data
TikTok and ByteDance are trying to convince us that so much of how the app works and our data is held would be in the US. All of these elements would be housed not just in the US, but they would be housed with Oracle, an American company. The code auditor itself would be approved by Siphias, although it would be nominated by Oracle and it would be examining the code inside of the USDS system.
