The Importance of Women in the Early Church
The witnesses of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection are dominated by the testimony of women. Testimonies of women during the time of Jesus were often denigrated and not upheld in court. The presence of the women at the foot of the tree to me is significant because it highlights the faithfulness of Jesus' female followers who didn't abandon him.
