Exploration of Tongan Islands and Disappearance of Adventure

This chapter focuses on James Cook's exploration of the Tongan Islands, where he encountered friendly natives and praised their canoes. Cook and his crew felt safe on the islands and engaged in formal ceremonies with the locals. However, during their journey towards New Zealand, the ships encountered a fierce storm that separated the Resolution and Adventure. Cook waited for Adventure in Queen Charlotte Sound but after weeks of waiting, decided to continue his exploration.
