Is China Going to Incriminate Russia in the Ukraine War?
Biden's framing of Ukraine crisis as battle between democracies and authoritarianism has deepened China's dilemma on Ukraine. For China, Russia is one of the last major power allies; it cannot fall to lose Russia's support in its long-term struggle with the US-led West. It means China does not want to see Putin's complete defeat in the war, or even the collapse of the Putin regime. That's probably why Xi Jinping wants to visit Russia now. Apparently, Russia needs China more than Beijing needs Moscow at the moment.
