One in Seven Runaways Are Victims of Trafficking

One in seven runaways are likely victims of trafficking, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That claim was fact checked by a Washington Post column in 2015. The methodology behind the statistic is essentially when people call the hotline, they're missing children hotline. What's really interesting is 83% of their calls are from foster care facilities or other state institutions.
