Retro Viruses in the Human Genome
Kant's latest excuse for ervs is that they can serve a beneficial function in our DNA. In fact, the indigenous retro viruses are 1.16% of the human genome sequence. Virus genes also act as extra genetic material that evolution can quote, play with as generations pass on. Future mutations can give virus genes new functions, some of which might happen to be useful. The breadcrumb trail left by ervs isn't proven nor disproven by how simple or complex other systems are.
