The Ergonomics of C++ Programming

Rust was originally written in OCaml. The syntax and a lot of the stylistic stuff looks more C++ than OCaml like. I wonder how much of the design for that comes from just kind of this assumption of just like, well, that's we want to look like and feel like a much safer C pointer.
