I think current VR technology is certainly subpar in many ways. You don't have anything much in the way of bodily perception or talk, just pretty well just vision and hearing. But with the right brain, computer interfaces, for example, where virtual reality might interface directly with parts of your brain that represent the body? Maybe that could ultimately lead to a very good embodied experience as well.
