In every utterance there are going to be these two levels of signification happening. There's what you mean to say or what you meant to say and then there's what you actually communicated. What our speech expresses, unbeknownst to us, is our unconscious intentions. So I have this t-shirt that I like to wear. It just says apology screamed period.
