I think there's a very similar situation in economics. There's this classical economics, which was dominant up until the early 20th century. And then when humanity decided to basically do the equivalent of the sniffing glue, which is going on fiat money, that economics was replaced by the insane nonsense we see today. It's impossible to ask these questions in university. People just look at you like you're an alien. They rationalize it with stupid thoughts, substitutes. But the alternative is thriving online.
