Theory of the soul and body came at a time when there was not any science or ther much of it. The way you describe things are very complicated and outside our immediate vision, such as the mind. And in it creates the open slots of possibilities that have been explored in the many philosophical and religious systems. That's a different story from the conception of what is happening to your soul, or where your soul is and so forth.

In recent decades, many philosophers and cognitive scientists have declared the problem of consciousness unsolvable, but Antonio Damasio is convinced that recent findings across multiple scientific disciplines have given us a way to understand consciousness and its significance for human life.
