Parables Deliver Oracles of Judgment

David's anger was greatly kindled against the man and he said to Nathan, as the Lord lives, that's an oath formula. David can connect to this because he was a shepherd. So when you're speaking truth to power, it's often a good idea to use a parable. Jesus is going to deliver oracles of judgment and use parables to do so in Matthew 13.
