In Scandinavia, it does not cost anything to go to a university. There are some downsides of that, but the upside is that anyone, irrespective of social background, can get a good education. In practice, I have taken a loan from myself. It was quite strange to hear your characterization of the Nordic countries. For example, in the long discussion on relationships, it almost sounded like Scandinavians don't invest emotionally or otherwise in relationships because we are so financially able to end them.
