The Importance of Liquidity

Bonds are not popular with millennials, at least not at the moment. The reason is that fixed payments and often low expected returns are more appealing as you approach retirement. It's much easier to buy and sell the bond fund than it is an actual bond itself. Another financial instrument you can purchase in your brokerage account is commodities.
